Privacy Policy

This policy describes what happens to personal information in connection with soliddigital.online. It is short because the site does very little: it has no form, no account, no newsletter and no tracking, so there is almost nothing to describe.

1. Who is responsible for your personal information

Beshine s.r.o. decides how and why personal information connected with this site is handled, and is the entity to contact about it. This policy is written with reference to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, because the site is written for readers in Australia, and with reference to the General Data Protection Regulation, because the publisher is established in the European Union.

2. What is collected

Through the website itself: nothing. There is no contact form, no newsletter sign-up, no registration, no comment facility, no quiz and no chat widget anywhere on this site. No cookies are set. No analytics, advertising, measurement or session-recording service is used. No JavaScript from any third party runs on any page, and the site loads no external fonts, images or scripts, so no third-party server is contacted when you read it.

Two categories of information nevertheless exist:

• Server logs. The hosting provider that serves this website records ordinary technical logs for each request: the IP address the request came from, the user agent string sent by the browser, the URL requested, the response status and the date and time. This is standard hosting behaviour and happens for every website.
• Email you choose to send. If you write to info@soliddigital.online, the publisher holds your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message.

3. Why it is held, and on what basis

• Server logs are held to keep the site available and secure — diagnosing faults, identifying abusive traffic and investigating security incidents. Under the GDPR the basis is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): running a secure website. There is no consent basis and no consent request, because the site sets no cookies and no consent is required for this.
• Email correspondence is held to read and answer your message, and to keep a record of corrections requested. Under the GDPR the basis is legitimate interests, or the steps taken at your request where your message concerns your own rights.

4. How long it is kept

• Server logs: retained for no longer than 30 days from the date of the request, then deleted or overwritten by the hosting provider in the ordinary course.
• Email correspondence: retained for up to 24 months from the last message in the exchange, then deleted. Correspondence concerning a legal claim or a regulatory matter is kept until that matter is concluded and any applicable limitation period has expired.

5. Who it is disclosed to, and where it goes

Personal information connected with this site is disclosed only to the hosting provider that operates the servers on which the site runs, and to the email provider through which correspondence is received. Neither is given information for its own purposes. No personal information is sold, rented, exchanged or disclosed to advertisers, data brokers, analytics companies or social networks, because none is collected to disclose.

The publisher is established in the Czech Republic and its service providers operate outside Australia. For readers in Australia this means that, under Australian Privacy Principle 8, information in server logs and in email is disclosed to overseas recipients — principally within the European Union. By reading this site or writing to the address above, you should understand that the information described in this policy is held outside Australia and is subject to the laws of the country in which it is held.

6. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and the server is encrypted. Access to hosting accounts and to the email account is limited to the publisher and protected by strong authentication. No system is perfectly secure, and the honest mitigation here is that there is very little to lose: the site holds no reader accounts, no passwords and no payment details, because it never asks for any.

7. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you may ask for access to personal information about you that the publisher holds, and ask for it to be corrected if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Email info@soliddigital.online and the request will be answered within a reasonable period, normally 30 days. In practice the only information likely to exist is an email exchange you began.

If you are not satisfied with the response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, which explains the complaint process on its own site.

Because the publisher is established in the European Union, the GDPR also applies to its handling of personal information. Your rights under it are access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests. You may exercise any of them at the email address above, and you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the publisher’s case, the Office for Personal Data Protection in the Czech Republic (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), or the authority in your own country of residence where one has jurisdiction.

8. Data breaches

If a breach of personal information occurs that is likely to result in serious harm to any individual whose information is involved, the publisher will assess it and, where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) requires it, notify the affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as soon as practicable. Equivalent notification obligations under the GDPR will be met where they apply.

9. Children

This site is not directed at children under 16 and collects no information from anyone, of any age, through the site itself. Some pages are written for parents and carers, which is a different thing from being aimed at young readers. If a child writes to the email address above, the message is handled in the same way as any other and deleted on request.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version is published on this page with a new effective date, and the change takes effect from that date. If the site ever begins to collect information — which would require adding something that does not currently exist — this policy and the cookie policy will be updated, and any consent mechanism required will be in place before that collection begins, not afterwards.
